microGM (1.96MB - 2.73MB)

Smallest and complete soundfont I made. Most GM patches here are unique. Supports GS drum sets but not presets. This SF2 is meant to be used by tiny devices, very Beatnik inspired, since i wanted a SF2 that could be used for ringtones without sounding off.

This SF2 doesn't use any fancy features by the format, so it is very plain in that aspect. The sample rate of the samples oscillates between 8000 and 16kHz (22kHz for percussion with high frequencies).

The recommended interpolation method is LINEAR. It helps a lot to get that retro crunching sound, and will make it sound full. To the point that sounds like a GBA/DS simulator.

Unlike other SF2s, this one tries to be less cliche possible, using obscure sample sources for it.

You don't need any permission to use it, honestly I don't care if you use this for a chinese toy or something heh.

demos are in the GDrive link at "demos" folder

People are free to use it for, idk, making midi players for consoles?? mod the soundbank from Nokia/Windows mobile phones???

SF2 FILES:

microgm | normal version

microgm-opt | optimised version [1 cycle (SNES like) loops for short looped samples and slighty low resampling for cymbals, not recommended for sf2 engines with buggy sample loop playback]

microgm-opt-tn | same as opt but the samples are tuned via sample rate rather than fine pitch [for formats that don't support sample tuning]

microgm-opt-tn-nosfx | same as opt-tn without SFX kit

microgm-opt-tn-nogskits | same as opt-tn without the GS kits (only Standard kit) - smallest version
