80s Hard'n'Heavy Rock

A guitarix amp modelling preset for playing 80s hard'n'heavy rock.
The signal chain is a DS1 overdrive through a head with 12ax7 pre-amp / 6V6 master tubes, M-Lead Style tonestack and Marshall Style cabinet. Effects are light compression and a bit of chorus and some reverb.

Bass sounds are made on a P-bass copy played with thumb (not much attack, so check master volume))) guitar sounds on a Squier Tele bridge mic all buttons up. These presets are intended to be a base to get your sound, all FX are small in the rack and ready to be activated and mixed as you like. Maybe on a second time you'll like to refine the settings using the "enlarge" button..

guitarix metal test

A test patch made in guitarix 0.42.1 and someone wanted to also try it.
To make it generic I replaced the original IR with one of the ones included with guitarix, you may want to play around with different ones (or the Cabinet plugin) to get what you want.
You'll also want to adjust your input level. I set up the compressor so that it should only trigger when you're punishing the guitar. If the comp is working all the time you've got a too hot signal, while you'll probab...
